The ancient astrologers were also astronomers, and through close observation of the movement of celestial bodies, they found patterns of movement that correspond not only to the cycles of the year, but to everyday life and destiny of humans. Groupings of stars became constellations, signifying signs of the zodiac or gods and symbols from legend. Sometimes the constellation was named by the shape suggested by an imaginary line drawn between stars, like a dipper. In this modern age of distractions and bright city lights, we seldom look up anymore and wonder at the heavens.
